The Brief

Develop a historically accurate, narrative-driven 2D animation for the Dublin Discoveries app, illustrating the inner mechanics and industrial operation of Dublin's historic Diving Bell. The project required translating complex 19th-century maritime engineering into an intuitive, visually captivating digital asset that educates visitors on how the bell paved the foundation of the Dublin Docklands.

My Role

Lead 2D Animator & Visual Development Artist. Directed the full asset pipeline from initial historical engineering research and layout design through to frame-accurate sequence animation and final compositing using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.

The Outcome

Delivered a high-retention educational asset engineered specifically for seamless interactive integration within the native mobile app. The final animation breaks down multi-stage mechanical processes into clear, rhythmic visual sequences, significantly enriching the user journey and driving on-site engagement across the Docklands heritage trail.
