THE CORPSE BRIDE
Mackinnon & Saunders
The Brief
To contribute to physical puppet fabrication and character finishing for Tim Burton’s stop-motion feature film Corpse Bride, produced at Mackinnon & Saunders & animated at 3D Mills Studio in East London. The project required meticulous craftsmanship across armature-based puppets standing 15 to 18 inches tall, designed to perform on large-scale physical sets with integrated animator access systems.
My Role
Puppet Fabrication Artist and Sculptor. Executed hands-on re-sculpting, silicone casting, and airbrushing for lead characters including Victor, Victoria, and the Corpse Bride, working alongside specialized armature and mould-making teams.
The Outcome
Delivered high-precision, production-grade character puppets featuring complex internal gearing and facial expression mechanics, contributing directly to the distinctive visual style and seamless stop-motion animation performance of the feature film.
